Okay, I promise you this is the last blog of the day and we are done!
so this next blog will be on a drama film, Superman/Batman:Public Enemies (from Art of the title). In this film there were 19 titles total, showing the company, movie, actors, etc.. The main images consist of major U.S. areas such as the White House and Statue of Liberty. It as well showed the colors of Batman and Superman. The connotation is tense and ready for anything considering the relationship they both share. The genre was reinforced through the suspenseful music used in the title sequence. The enigma was created throughout the whole sequence, the music had you anticipating what was going to happen. The way they appealed to a targeted audience was using the colors, music and DC characters. The way technology was used was throughout the editing process of using smooth transitions throughout the sequence.

Title Research: Saturday Night Fever
Yes, me again I promise I'll be done soon so we all can get back to our happy sleeping schedule.
So this blog I'll be watching the title sequence of Saturday Night Fever (from Art of the Title). In this sequence there were 19 titles. First of course being the company who produced the film, the actors, choreographers, costume design, producers, directors, and the director. The focus image point was the city (NYC), the whole sequence started off by showing the city directly before even showing one of the actors. This connotation was much harder to figure out but I'd say it's very relaxed and not in a rush to go anywhere. How the genre is reinforced is by the music and the subtle dancing through the streets. What created an enigma until the very end is why he was strolling through the streets of New York with a paint can. How this appealed to a target audience is the music and the titles that were written in red stage like lights. The way technology was is how many low angles there were, eye level angles, a POV, constant tracking, and over the shoulder shots.

In the images shown in this sequence the mainly prioritized theme was workers in a car garage dancing while working. The connotation of this was extremely positive and upbeat, everyone is dancing, laughing and having a good time. The way the genre is reinforced with this is everyone is constantly dancing, in everything they do, there's rhythm. The way there's an enigma is in the end we see all the workers getting yelled at but we don't know what happened, we can only imagine what actually happens. The way the appealed to a targeted audience is by using dance and happiness while working simultaneously. Technology was used well in this film because there were smooth transitions in the beginning, then there are many high and eye level angles. They further began to give credits to actors, hair stylist, music directors, producers and directors. The images in the sequence are centered around hair care products because that's the theme of the movie, hair care/ styles. The genre of this film is a drama. The connotation is relatively positive, everyone included seems happy and hair is in every which way. The genre is reinforced by showing things that you would actually see in the film, using all the drama caused in the film as well. It establishes an enigma by showing the relaxer going into her hair to showing the scissors and the champagne. To ensure the film would a people to a target audience they used an animated title sequence and colorful titles. Technology was used effectively because the transitions of this were smooth all around. Because this was an animated title sequence there weren't any camera angles or movements.

Back again, this time with a different website. This website is watch the titles. On this website, when you open the website you see a series of films. As you go through the website, you see everything that you need to research what a title introduction should look like. You also see a series of interviews in the website. There's everything from Featured films to French Friday films. There's also a section for video games. This website does the same as the other when it comes to helping learn about how a title should be based off the type of genre being used. It shows the first two minutes of the film where all the titles are. This website as well as Art of the Title will help me learn how to create titles based on my genres.

So I'm back with another blog. So we've started our research on titles. This is one of the websites we're using. So on this website there are a number of movies but they only show the first two minutes of the film to show the different types of styles of titles according to what the film is about. There are different sections for certain types of films. There's also a section where some of the top films are, this contains all types of genres. This website also shows movies that range in years. It shows all types of title introductions, from Marvel to animated titles. It shows how all titles are different and helps give an idea of how yours should look. This website is helpful because it'll help give me an idea on how I should title my film.

genre research: let's dance
hey guys!
so this last film I watched was a very new film to me. this film had so many new characteristics that are very strong. Aside from this film being in a different language, the type of dance was slightly different as well. This film combined acrobatic dancing and hip hop and also put ballet into the mix. This really showed the versatility these actors have. In the beginning we are greeted with a voice over of Jospeh talking to his father over the phone explaining that he's leaving to follow his dream. Once he and his friends get to Paris, go to their audition where the leader of the team is very hostile when he realized there were more dancers auditioning than he wanted, so everyone was slightly hostile towards each other until the end of Joseph's audition. There's a lot of non- diegetic sound due to the amount of dancing being done. There was a lot of natural lighting as well as artificial lighting. The clothing was quite simple, causal with the occasional dressing up. The costumes fit those who were dancing in a certain style. While during a competition and an audition both of the main characters had the same flashback of them dancing together and focused on that until the end of their performance and both had gotten standing ovations for it. There was a lot of stage lighting due to mainly performing but, the studio had all natural lighting. There were many three person shots as well as two person shots. The main type of prop was a purse. There were a few high angles and low angles and in the end there was an extreme close up. There were also many establishing shots. What I like about this film is how different it was, how new. It pit me in a whole new place with a whole new perspective on how certain things needed to be filmed. To be completely honest there wasn't much that I disliked in this simply because it intrigues me and it's so new to me.
