Genre research: Step Sisters

Hey ya'll!
So this next film is called step sisters and it's basically about how Jahmila (the main character) teaches girls from the sorority Stigma Beta Beta how to step so that she can get a recommendation to get into Harvard Law. In the beginning we get some music along with Jahmila's original sorority performing a step combo. The shot is eye level and all of the girls are wearing dark red lipstick. They are wearing overalls with their sorority symbols across their chest with a red shirt underneath and black boots on that are made for stepping in itself. They are performing at their school. After stepping  Jahmila gets a text and there is an insert so that we can see what is being said. Then there is an establishing shot showing the apartment Jahmila shares with her boyfriend. While eating with Jahmila's parents there's a wide variety of over the shoulder shots and some POV shots as well. The setting then changes to the office at the college and Jahmila's boss is wearing and suit and tie. Other than at the office, clothes are mostly casual unless they're stepping. At SBB's sorority party there are many tight dresses and tight outfits. After everything that happened at the party we see Jahmila stressing out over getting constant messages as she lays in her bed in pajamas. We see a low angle as Jahmila comes down the stairs to SBB's basement to begin practice, it then goes into as high angle so that we can see the members of the sorority already working on their stepping. They are mainly wearing athletic clothes such as sweatpants and tank tops. In the basement the natural lighting is little so it's quite dark even with the help of artificial lighting. When we see students in the court yard it's all natural lighting. Durning one of the step competitions many sororities were wearing skirts and SBB we're wearing an all pink cowgirl like outfit. There are many three person shots, mainly when Jahmila is talking to her parents. In the final competition, Thi Chi Theta, Jahmila's sorority wore coveralls. Each group had their own type of style. What I like about this film is how it teaches others that it doesn't matter who you are or what color you are everyone can share the same love. What I dislike about this film is how it starts off with stereotypes but that also develops the stories plot.
Well this is all for this blog my loves.
